I feel the primary concern with CAN-SPAM is that it doesn't do anything to protect email users from viruses and malware. The act has helped lower non-solicited marketing and vulgar emails since enacted in 2004, but it is showing age. Email is the #1 delivery channel of cyberattacks today and it is only going to get worse. A lot of these viruses have been getting through Office 365, used by US governments and education (our kids). -From email user for over 20 years
