I vote "no" for Over The Counter Hearing Devices and believe this is definitely a public safety issue. The organ of hearing, the cochlea is a human organ in the brain. The regulations to safeguard will not be enforceable to ensure children are not able to be fit with these devices. The harmful sound levels are not reversible and will permanently destroy hearing if not fit properly by trained professionals knowledgeable in hearing testing, hearing disorders, amplification prescriptions, and follow-up care. Over-amplified Sound presented to damaged/impaired human hearing results in further damage and more hearing loss. For these reasons and many more, I vote "no" for any further legislation on this topic of sales for over-the-counter hearing aids.
