Eye doctors, in general, are considered small businesses. In order to stay competitive we must treat our patients fairly, honestly and in their best interests. Almost all optometrists comply with this tradition. It seems that a large, unscrupulous online retailer of contact lenses wishes to push the FTC into requiring burdensome REGULATIONS that are highly unnecessary and against the best interest of patients and the eye doctors that serve those patients. What the health care community and small business need now is NOT ANOTHER REGULATION. The FTC seems to be stepping into a battle between good people (doctors and their patients) and corporate greed. Please consider acting fairly and leave the contact lens/eyecare profession alone by not considering passage of this truly UNNEEDED REGULATION. Thank you.
