FTC Workshop Will Examine Competition and Consumer Protection Issues in the Rooftop Solar Business
The solar industry today is exploiting American workers with NABCEP certification requirements. While the industry talks out of one side of its mouth about the jobs it is creating the fact is the solar industry will not admit or allow any worker unless and until they pay thousands of dollars in training and testing fees for NABCEP certification. These fees have become a cash cow for the NABCEP certification agency and has done more to make training centers rich than to employ and hire American workers. NABCEP and these training centers are exploiting and extorting American workers by requiring workers to pay large fees before workers can get a job and make a living in the solar industry. And even when workers do pay this extortion fee they are not qualified to connect a renewable energy power system to any structure and they know very little. Connection still requires a licensed electrician and NABCEP certified solar workers are not trained on construction skills, techniques or construction site safety. NABCEP certification requirements are a burden and a scam being forced upon American workers and this scam needs to be stopped. The NABCEP certification agency in New York state needs to scrutinized by Congressional investigation and the people who have forced this requirement upon the solar industry need to indicted and tried for extortion and fraud.
