FTC Workshop Will Examine Competition and Consumer Protection Issues in the Rooftop Solar Business
Dear Sirs/Madams My comments are as follows - 1. We have an 8.7KW system that will take forever to pay for as the PA State Legislature allowed the SREC market to collapse. (another instance of "repub party" failing to support green energy. 2. Now there are rumors that they ("repubs") are listen to PA utilities efforts to add "insult to injury" by legislating fees on all small energy producers. The utility companies reason that we small energy are using their transmission lines to sell our excess solar energy BUT in my case and in the case almost all small energy producers our system generates less electricity than our house uses so we actually be punished by such fees. 3. Small producers like my wife and I would in essence be receiving a fine for reducing demand, reducing CO2 emissions as well a SO2 and Hg emissions. So the FCC needs to protect small, private, electrical producers from the ever increasing corporate greed that is destroying this country. My wife and I respectfully ask that the FCC do its part to see that the constant search for ever increasing corporate profits is not born on the backs of those of use who did the right thing by adding a small solar system to our homes. The PA utility companies with the help of the PA 'repub" legislature that they helped buy and pay for screwed us out of the value for our SRECs and now they want to "fine" us for helping them to lessen the peak power demands - as well has lessen the production of green house gases. When is enough - enough? Sincerely, James D. & Vicki C. Redos
