I am a current owner of a Tesla Model S (bought in May 2013). Buying and owning my Tesla has been the best car buying/owning experience I have had with any automobile. I doubt I will ever buy a car again from a traditional car dealer. I had a honest and pleasurable experience buying my automobile. In the past, as most people, I have had terrible experiencing dealing with auto dealerships that use pressure tactics and long negotiations when buying a car. The dealerships also try to pressure you to buy a car or add-ons you don't want. With Tesla there was helpful service and I was able to build and buy my car online without any pressure. My car has also had great service at my local Tesla service center with very efficient and friendly staff. With auto dealerships, they use their service/maintenance as profit making centers so it is always difficult to know when they recommend certain services if they are really needed or if they are trying to make extra profit over unnecessary services. I have never felt this with Tesla and for the many times I have taken my car in for service over the past 2 years, I have paid very little out of pocket for service or maintenance making my car much cheaper to operate. Thank you for your time and I hope the FTC will protect the rights of consumers to buy automobiles directly from manufacturers, just as other consumer products.
