Free Trade demands that Tesla be allowed to sell it's vehicles as it sees fit. Freedom demands that Tesla be allowed to sell it's cars any way they choose. If we want these cars to be affordable, Tesla should be allowed to sell directly and cut out the dealers. If we want the best jobs for this county it's Manufacturing vs. Sales (you are going to get the service jobs regardless). The loss of manufacturing jobs has been devastating to this country. Direct sales of less expensive cars results in more manufacturing. Adding a dealer makes for more expensive cars and thus less sales and less desirable jobs. Summarizing. Tesla and all manufacturers should be allowed to sell their vehicles any way they choose be it direct, dealers, or another way. I'm opposed to mandating they sell via dealers. That just strikes me as legalized extortion.
