FTC to Host Public Workshop Examining the U.S. Auto Distribution System Workshop Will Explore Competition, State Regulations, and Emerging Trends in the Industry, Project No. P131202
The notion that dealerships encourage competition is hogwash. No dealer will ever sell a vehicle for less than the manufacturer sells it to them. By buying directly from the manufacturer, you cut out the middle man who only adds to the cost. In a global economy middle men are going away. You can now deal directly with overseas businesses through the internet at places like Alibaba.com If the government cripples American businesses the consumer will just go elsewhere.
