This comment is to support Tesla and others in their opposition to having to sell through dealers. It seems odd to even have to comment on whether the market should decide what model to allow - the whole point of a free market is to allow the best product/price and sales models provide competition between sellers and buyers. The original purpose of the dealer model - to avoid monopolization by a small number of manufacturers - no longer applies. In fact, the rise of superdealers, often owning all or most of the dealers for multiple competing brands in a single market area, has created the opposite problem. The large dealers are monopolizing local markets. Monopolies don't like competition and often use government to enforce their monopolies, so they oppose Tesla. Let competition reign free. Tesla should be allowed to use their model. The franchisors and franchisees should be allowed to use their own. The market will decide.
