I purchased a Tesla Model S three years ago "on-line" after careful consideration of the information provided on-line and at the Tesla showrooms from the sales personnel. This was an easy experience without haggling over price or conditions of the sale. This past week I leased an Volkswagon Electric Vehicle from a local dealer and was very disappointed with the experience. Pressured by sales personnel who were very unknowledgeable regarding the actual operation of the vehicle to buy and making minor financial concessions to close the deal was very unpleasant. I would strongly recommend approval of direct sales as performed by Tesla Motors as perfectly acceptable standard for of sales. Clearly electric cars are not being supported by the traditional dealerships to the extent other cars with better profit margins are. PLEASE APPROVE DIRECT SALES - DEVELOPED BY TESLA AND OTHERS - AS A NATIONAL RIGHT OR STANDARD.
