FTC to Host Public Workshop Examining the U.S. Auto Distribution System Workshop Will Explore Competition, State Regulations, and Emerging Trends in the Industry, Project No. P131202
The inability to buy a car straight from the manufacture is an obsolete and antiquated system. It is not consumer friendly. Why is this consumer-focused product the only one (that I can recall) that I can not buy from the manufacturer? Dealerships can become car stores and sell makes and models that they want to, no different than a department store. And don't even get me started on Pennsylvania's remaining "blue law" that prevents consumers from buying a car on a Sunday.
