FTC to Host Public Workshop Examining the U.S. Auto Distribution System Workshop Will Explore Competition, State Regulations, and Emerging Trends in the Industry, Project No. P131202
I am writing to provide my support for the direct sale of goods, including automobiles, from the manufacturer to consumers. The existing dealership model forced upon consumers in some states provides no discernible benefit to the consumer and only results in increased price. Dealerships rely on an antiquated understanding of sale transaction to justify their existence which is no longer applicable in the automotive industry. It is my opinion that the direct sale of products can only be a benefit to the consumer by offering the same services with added competition.
