11 January 2016 I voice my support for the direct model of car sales from manufacturers to consumers. We purchase many complex items, including high-tech electronics such as computers and smart phones directly from manufacturers. Consumers should be allowed the freedom to select and purchase merchandise, including automobiles, directly from manufacturers. This is not a theoretical opinion on my part. I have had the agonizing experience of shopping at a conventional automotive middle man and also purchasing directly from an American automobile manufacturer. The latter was painless and left me satisfied with the result. In direct comparison, the direct model is far ahead of the dated dealer concept. Thank you. James Thomson Houston TX
