FTC to Host Public Workshop Examining the U.S. Auto Distribution System Workshop Will Explore Competition, State Regulations, and Emerging Trends in the Industry, Project No. P131202
I have NEVER had a straightforward upfront experience with any car dealership that I have dealt with in 35 years driving experience. Today, most car dealerships are huge corporations that focus on maximizing their revenue. Car dealerships have been slow and hampered communications between the customer and the car manufacturers, adding cost and complexity to the process. I feel more comfortable and confident dealing with the car company directly and feel the car dealership is not essential, especially if the car company can provide maintenance. If indeed the services of a car dealership are valued by the client, there should be no problem in the dealership surviving without demanding exclusive monopolistic accommodations.
