FTC to Host Public Workshop Examining the U.S. Auto Distribution System Workshop Will Explore Competition, State Regulations, and Emerging Trends in the Industry, Project No. P131202
Car dealers by their very nature are anti-consumer. The fact they prohibit or restrict direct sales in many states inflates prices and reduces competition. Dealers have evolved to be one of the most hated groups by consumers. They continue business practices that cost consumers billions of dollars each year in inflated expenses and service. I hope the FTC opens the market to fair competition, rather than cede continued control by billion-dollar dealer groups. Please allow all manufacturers to sell directly to consumers if they so choose.
