As a prospective customer of a start up autocycle company attempting to come to market I find it disturbing they cannot do direct sales and are constrained by State Law anywhere . Ultimately the consumer should decide how and where to purchase a vehicle . There are advantages and disadvantages to both systems of distribution . Direct sales are definitely helpful when starting up .And , as long as direct sales companies have a reasonable plan for service and recall repairs for the consumer in each State they sell into ; I fail to see why they should be prohibited . In fact they seem more equipped to have impartial feedback on possible problems leading to recall as the company and approved service providers are less aligned due to the division of sales and repair . Undoubtedly data would surface quicker and be harder to cover up for defects . Tesla Motors has seemed to do a great job and I expect the same out of Elio Motors when the time comes .
