FTC to Host September Workshop in Washington, DC, to Examine Advertising for Over-the-Counter Homeopathic Products
I have studied and utilized homeopathic remedies in my home for my family for over 17 years now. Of the many introductory books I have read on homeopathic theory and practice for the lay person, the best one I have found is available as a free ebook at www.beyondflatearth.com. Written by a naturopathic doctor who is also an M.D., it shows the efficacy of homeopathy and its place along side complementary and traditional healing modalities. I have also been under the care of a professional classical homeopath, as have my children, for almost 16 years. In this way I have come to have great respect for the depth of knowledge and wisdom found in those who practice and expand the boundaries of this profession. Homeopathy has helped me handle many common acute situations which occur in the home with active children, instead of always having to run to urgent care. That the remedies are easy to administer to children is a big plus. I am very happy to see that they are becoming more readily available. I am especially grateful to have over the counter options for my family that have few, if any, side effects. That remedies are easy on the budget is especially helpful, as health care costs continue to skyrocket. I don't rely on advertising for my choice or selection of remedies, but rather for good sources of supply. I am grateful for more health food stores stocking homeopathic remedies, but also grateful for the number of online sources which have a greater number of remedies available, in their various forms (tinctures, gels, ointments, creams, pellets, drops, etc.) I have found that many of these sources also have links to places to learn more about homeopathic theory. Education is always a good thing. I am happy to see this healing modality return to common practice and empowering persons to pay more attention to. and take more responsibility for, their health. It is gratifying to see that more recent research is validating homeopathic theory, now that science has much more delicate instruments which can measure resonant frequencies and observe how water is structured and capable of transmitting these energetic healing modalties. Thank you for this opportunity to comment.
