FTC to Host September Workshop in Washington, DC, to Examine Advertising for Over-the-Counter Homeopathic Products
I am a double board-certified family physician specializing in classical homeopathy, nutritional and botanical medicine, chelation, bio-oxidative, and bio-identical hormone therapy with over thirty years experience practicing the gentler art and science of integrative medicine. Over the course of my medical career, I have treated thousands of patients with homeopathic medicine, and have directly observed it to be very safe, non-toxic, highly therapeutically effective, as well as cost-efficient, for a wide range of acut4e and chronic disease conditions. I have a plethora of documented, cured cases using constitutional homeopathic medicine. My patients have also greatly benefited from their use of OTC homeopathic remedies for the self-treatment of minor illnesses. Such remedies are also very safe, non-toxic, highly therapeutically effective, and cost-efficient. The comprehensive, Swiss government report documenting the clinical efficacy and cost-effectiveness of homeopathic medicine serves as an excellent guideline for the FDA and FTC in their consideration of homeopathy: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dana-ullman/homeopathic-medicine-_b_125860... Homeopathic medicine, both OTC and prescription, should be supported by the FDA, FTC and other government agencies for its long record of safety, therapeutic efficacy and cost-effectiveness. It provides an excellent therapeutic modality for the American people. I encourage the FDA and FTC to promote further clinical research on homeopathy via the NIH and NCCAM. Thank you for your attention. Mitchell A. Fleisher, M.D., D.Ht., D.A.B.F.M.
