FTC to Host September Workshop in Washington, DC, to Examine Advertising for Over-the-Counter Homeopathic Products
I first learned of homeopathy through a radio show, on which the physician to the Royal Family of England, who was an M.D. and a homeopath, spoke of it. I learned that the Royal Family has been using homeopathy since about the 1830's. I had heard the word all my life, but hadn't really known what homeopathy was. A couple of days later I was in a bookstore and saw a book about homeopathic medicine, and the forward was written by the same British doctor I had heard on the radio! So I bought it and read it, and then began to purchase other books (such as The Science of Homeopathy, by George Vithoulkas). Since then I have read many more books about it (such as Impossible Cure, by Amy Lansky). It has been interesting to learn how widely homeopathy is used in the UK and Europe, and in parts of Latin America, and of the history of it in the US. The first doctor who attended Abraham Lincoln after he was shot, was a homeopath. At the website of The National Center For Homeopathy (nationalcenterforhomeopathy.org) there are many articles available on various aspects of homeopathy. As you can see by now, I am totally sold on homeopathy, and have found the medicines to be effective and gentle. Whenever I go into a pharmacy or vitamin store, I check to see if they carry homeopathic products. I think it's great that more and more people are using homeopathic medicines, and I am always glad to hear or see another ad for them. Homeopathy has done me and my family a lot of good and I'm sure it has saved us a lot of money, since the medicines are not very expensive. It's also great that they are so safe to use, especially in households with little children. I hope the outcome of this survey will lead to continued availability of homeopathic products and to more families and individuals using them. Thank you for reading my comments.
