FTC to Host September Workshop in Washington, DC, to Examine Advertising for Over-the-Counter Homeopathic Products
I am a holistic vet, and I use homeopathic products in my practice. I will sometimes prescribe remedies for clients to obtain OTC; I also buy some combination remedies for my family OTC. Advertising is not a significant factor in my choice of remedies. I want combination remedies to have the components listed clearly, as well as the problem which is intended to be addressed. This is generally the case. I do not think it is appropriate for herbal and homeopathic remedies to be combined;such combination is actually fairly rare. I advise clients to learn about the remedies through the National Center for Homeopathy website, and through basic texts, such as Lockie's "Family Guide to Homeopathy".
