I'd like to comment on Eyeglass Rule, 16 CFR Part 456, Project No. R511996. I work on the customer experience team at Warby Parker, and every day I see orders delayed and customers frustrated because doctors are not held to any standard for verifying prescriptions. They take days to respond to calls or faxes, and this prevents customers from getting their glasses in a timely fashion. It is a consumer's choice where they would like to purchase their prescription eyewear, and doctors offices should be required to verify prescription information in a reasonable amount of time for whatever alternative retailer requests verification. The contact rule functions this way, and there is no reason there should not be parity for the eyeglass rule.
