I feel one of the biggest flaws in this law is where the contact lens Rx is automatically filled if there is no confirmation of the Rx. This for example is a loophole and it is inevitable that an incorrect Rx could be filled when I as a small business owner choose to be closed on the Friday after Thanksgiving for Christmas Eve for the benefit of my staff. Basically if there is noone in my office the Rx automatically could be filled improperly and even on an expired Rx. I am available 24/7 for any emergencies and can help a patient at anytime with contact lens problems. But this law needs to be modified to help patient compliance with recommended wear schedules. If anything more standards needs to be in place so that a patient is not able to order five or even 20 years worth of contacts on a one year Rx. I hope that the law reflects what is best for patient care and safety, not what is best for the contact lens companies or the retail industry. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I would be happy to help. PriceEyeCare@gmail.com
