Patients should be entitled to their glasses prescriptions and contact lens prescriptions. However, like all things in life, things change. Eye health, vision, medical conditions that impact vision are all variables that affect how well a person sees, therefore, there must be an expiration date on both glasses and contact lens prescriptions. No prescription is good indefinitely. The average consumer is not educated enough to know about all the things that can impact their vision and determine for themselves that they are not having any vision issues. If we expire driver's licenses, we should also expire prescriptions.
