I'd like to comment on Eyeglass Rule, 16 CFR Part 456, Project No. R511996. In full disclosure, I now work for Warby Parker optical, an online eyeglass retailer. Prior to working here, I tried to place an order for glasses in an online store but had misplaced my prescription. Instead, I asked the retailer to call my doctor. A few days later, I found out that my doctor's office hadn't gotten back to the retailer, so my order was really delayed. It seems like they should have been obligated to get back to them sooner! Now working for an eyeglass retailer, I regularly work with doctors who refuse to release prescriptions or even charge patients for copies of their medical records. It seems like they should absolutely be obligated to give a person their records both free of charge and in a timely manner.
