16 CFR Part 315; Agency Information Collection Activities: Review; Comment Request; Contact Lens Rule: FTC Project No. R511995
It is the right of every patient to have a copy of their contact lens Rx. There has to be a higher accountability placed on the seller of the prescription to ensure its accuracy. A contact lens is a medical device and needs to be treated with more respect including the assurance that the patient is receiving the CORRECT Rx given and not the discretion of the uneducated patient to purchase whatever they want from an online retailer. There are abuses of the system where there is no verification that the prescription is correct. Blatant non-verification occurs and modified old prescriptions are being let through as "valid" by the retailers.
