A PD measurement should not be required to be on a patient's prescription. I work at an office that does not sell glasses. We should not be forced to purchase additional equipment just to provide this number on someone's prescription. The businesses that sell and dispense glasses have that responsibility. This responsibility should not lie with the doctor. After all the PD measurement can be affected by the type of frame a patient chooses especially if they are presbyopic and need a bifocal/progressive type of lens. Again this measurement should not be a requirement for the doctor to provide.
