I'd like to comment on Eyeglass Rule, 16 CFR Part 456, Project No. R511996. My prescription rarely changes, and when it does I can usually tell on my own. It's always been frustrating that I have to go back to my doctor to "update" my prescription every time I want new glasses (like now!). I'm trying to purchase new glasses but am unable to do so with my existing prescription...although I know I can see out of that prescription just fine. It seems to me that this has more to do with forcing United States consumers being force to pay Luxottica, owner of Lenscrafters, Pearle Vision, Sears Optical, Target Optical, Eyemed vision care plan, and Glasses.com, anytime we want or need new glasses. Luxottica is not even a U.S. company, but you are forcing the vast majority of United States citizens who wear glasses to participate, and payout two, this monopoly.
