I have had numerous times that 1-800 contacts has sent me a verification request multiple times even though I already faxed back to them the fact the patients rx is expired. They do this until I miss a request and then can sell the contacts without a valid prescription. I have also had retailers sell patients a years worth of contacts when the two year prescription expires in a few days. They also make it difficult to contact them when they leave a prescription request over the phone rather than fax request and the call back number is just an answering machine and impossible to actually get ahold of a live person. I have also had more patients come into the clinic with ulcers/infections due to overwear that has gone undetected due to the long amount of time between eye exams.
