16 CFR Part 315; Agency Information Collection Activities: Review; Comment Request; Contact Lens Rule: FTC Project No. R511995
The phone verification robo-calls (specifically from 1-800 contacts) are purposely designed to make it harder to verify. They purposely drone on and on as slowly as possible and then leave patient name as the very last possible piece of information to be given, in hopes that the listener will get bored, distracted, or confused enough to give up and ignore the call (which would then allow the prescription to be filled). It is incredible to me that we allow companies to so shamelessly promote lawbreaking which is dangerous and harmful to the public.
