As a consumer, i would like my eye doctor (optometrist or ophthalmology) to tell me what is the best glasses and contact lens prescription is after examining my eyes and its health, not some online company based on the price. I support the optometrist deciding the parameters for my glasses and contact lenses after seeing my eyes. I do not support other retail stores , let alone online website to tell me what is good for my eyes without even examining me and without a proper license to practice optometry. The optometrist go to 4 years of optometry school and intensive training in disease , pathalogy, contact lenses, low vision and other specialty. They are trained to diagnose and treat disease. They are the expert in primary eyecare. I do not want contact lens companies and eyeglasses website deciding what is good for my eyes so they can make few extra dollars off consumer. Let the optometrist do their job and keep the greedy insurance companies and retail websites off of consumer and their wallets.
