In the Matter of Carrot Neurotechnology, Inc., File No. 1423132
The actions being taken against Dr. Seitz are out of proportion to the claims made against him, especially considering the cooperation he and The University of California have displayed. The notion that the FTC has the expertise to determine that his research is unreliable and unsound is asinine. This research was peer reviewed by experts in the field and deemed worth funding by The National Institute of Health. The FTC is clearly overstepping its bounds. This sort of behavior discourages scientists from translating their work to the field, which means no new inventions, no innovation. This is not healthy for science, research, or the common good.
