Re: 16 CFR Part 456 ; Agency Information Collection Activities: Review; Comment Request Ophthalmic Practice Rule (Eyeglass Rule): FTC Project No. R511996 I am completely opposed to this rule. It is driven by the special interests of people involved in online- eyeglass selling business, and it will detract from quality eye care services. Doctor's offices are already overburdened with numerous regulations that are difficult to comply with, such as electronic health records initiatives, changing reimbursement methodologies, ICD 10 coding, etc. They don't need the added burden of federally mandated eyeglass prescription verification response times and additional interpupillary distance measurements that are only meant to benefit business interests connected with the dubious-quality scheme of selling prescription eyeglasses over the internet.
