This comment is in reference to Eyeglass Rule, 16 CFR Part 456, Project No. R511996. I have ordered glasses online and found it very frustrating that doctors do not routinely include pupillary distance in their prescriptions. In order to buy my glasses online (which is much cheaper and easier than going to an optical shop) I had to go to extra lengths to calculate my own PD, and risk that it could have been wrong (since I am not, after all, an expert). It seems clear that ophthalmologists/optometrists should include this measurement on their prescriptions.
