The "Sharing" Economy: Issues Facing Platforms, Participants, and Regulators A Federal Trade Commission Workshop
I love the sharing economy and how it provides an opportunity for the middle class to leverage their assets and make a little extra money to make ends meet. It also creates jobs and those earnings go back into the economy. The experiences that are had by those using these services are unique and often are much more memorable than say taking a cab with a rude driver in the same ol town car or staying in a hotel where every room looks the same. I enjoy the sharing economy just as it is and I feel there is no role for the federal government to play. Please do not add additional taxes or regulation. It is not necessary. I feel comfortable with the vetting processes (background checks, etc.) that most of these services provide.
