Reputation Systems are nothing new and have had their place in the Travel Accommodation/Hospitality Industry for a very long time. They can not replace regulations for the health and well-being of the public. I think that these Sharing Platforms should be required to submit provider member listing information to all concerned regulatory agencies tasked with Public Health, Fire Safety, Zoning, Occupancy and Tax Collection. It's not enough for these sharing platforms to simply present a legal disclaimer check box in their agreement forms. In my opinion that only serves to protect the Company from after-the-fact litigation. It certainly does not adequately protect the Public Interest.
