I have been an Airbnb host for 2 1/2 years and it has been an awesome experience. I have met people from around the world including Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Asia, Hawaii, Germany, Mexico, and many states in the US. Each person has brought so much joy to my family and we have learned so much about the world. Some stay for only 2 nights and others for 2 months. We have not had a negative experience as of yet. Many of these people want the culture experience of the city they are staying in and don't want to stay on a hotel. I plan to continue hosting. I pay my taxes and receive my 1099 each year and plan on this as income. I am in full support of Airbnb and will do what it takes to promote this business. This is one of the future businesses that really makes sense for the travelers that really want to experience the true culture of the city they choose to stay in. Let's not make this a political battle over the hotels vs. Airbnb. Let's really take a look at what the consumer REALLY wants and create an atmosphere around that!
