The "Sharing" Economy: Issues Facing Platforms, Participants, and Regulators A Federal Trade Commission Workshop
I know they FTC is considering Limiting ride sharing sites such as UBER. I am a business owner and wanted to voice my opinion that Ride sharing should be allowed nationwide. This is a new business model but it has already proven to be quite successful. We should embrace these new business models such as UBER and Airbnb and not succumb to the lobbying groups for the traditional taxis and Hotel establishment. Uber provides a valuable service to the public at large and is a boon for the area where I live which is Miami Beach. I own a restaurant and hotel and we are constantly using the service to help patrons. For tourists it provides a safe , affordable way to get to world famous south beach, and allows them to enjoy their vacation without worrying about renting a car and dealing with difficult parking of south beach. Additionally patrons that have had too much to drink ask us to use the UBER service that is cleaner, safer , more affordable and much quicker than the average taxi. If we lose UBER it would be a severe blow to the tourist industry in south florida. Thanks for your attention to this matter, yagiro lara
