I am a senior who has been residing and working in Miami Beach, full-time. since 1991. I have been utilizing UBER as a main source of my transportation needs. It did not replace TAXIs for me, since I rarely used taxis. Uber has provided me with a prompt, clean, cordial and affordable way to travel around the beach and to Miami proper without the hassle of using my car and trying to find parking. Please don't take this valuable and improved service away from this community which was thirsty for transportation alternatives. Public transport has not been a priority in Miami, and this has helped a lot. It is good for us AND for our tourists! Miami and Miami Beach need to provide as much new and reliable service in the area of transportation as is possible. And Miami should stand for healthy competition and a spirit of freedom when an opportunity like this offers itself to our community. The US government stands for free enterprise, and in this case, it is a great enterprise, that has improved my life here, and I know many others! Protect us by protecting UBER, and other new ideas and businesses that your citizens welcome.
