Uber has helped me out tremendously. Taxi services in the Miami area are unreliable and often rude. Taxis are only available at the high tourist destinations as well. I am a local, visiting local establishments. I can walk out of any restaurant, bar, business, etc. and check on the nearest Uber, luckily in Miami one is usually within minutes and I can watch their progress. Taxis need to be called and are often twice as far away as an Uber. I also do not know the taxis progress to my location. CREDIT CARDS!! I also rarely if ever have cash in my wallet. Ever try to take a cab 1/2 mile and use a credit card?! Cabies will literally yell at you! Does Uber have an issue with this? NO NOT AT ALL! Uber is available when its rainy, or girls have heels on and don't want to walk 3 blocks - try having a cab do that! PRICE! As an experiment I took Uber, then took a cab, to the same destination days later. The cab fare was TWICE that of Uber and I was expected to tip on top of that! The cab would also not allow me to use a credit card and CHARGED me to find an ATM! Uber is clean, convenient, reliable, safe, fun, and economical. Cab companies are angry because their horrible mafia monopoly is being broken up with a much more sophisticated and superior product - one cabs will NEVER be able to compete with. Thank you Uber for this product and service you provide to everyone, not just those who carry cash."
