Esteemed Commission; I have been offering a part of my home to selected Airbnb visitors for about 1 year now. It is my only short term rental property. This helps me pay my rent and expenses in Santa Barbara where it is almost impossible to pay a mortgage and to survive without additional income. I am a 25 year resident in this community. I am 75 years old. My guests are responsible, quiet and come to enjoy a City where they can't afford the very high hotel rates. They ALL spend money with dining out, kayak rentals, wine tours,shopping, whale watching, etc. Pumping lots of $$ into the local economy. I have paid for a city license, also pay 12% bed tax, + $2.00 nightly per stay. None of my neighbors is bothered as I regulate carefully. I urge you to view this source of necessary income favorably.
