The "Sharing" Economy: Issues Facing Platforms, Participants, and Regulators A Federal Trade Commission Workshop
I'm an educated employed woman who earns extra money to help pay my bills, rent, or buy food with extra funds I receive by sleeping on the couch when I invite guest to sleep in my home. It's no easy task. In fact, at first I was afraid to allow strangers into my home. However, the fear of sleeping in my auto mobile was even scarier. Moreover, the fear empowered me to rent my room on Airbnb. Yes, I'm able to remain in my apt due to the extra money I earn listing my room for rent on Airbnb. Yes we, meet exciting new people, and perhaps even form new bonds, and relationships. However, my primary reason for hosting an Airbnb guest, in my 1-bed room apt I'm living in, iis to earn money to help pay my rent.
