The "Sharing" Economy: Issues Facing Platforms, Participants, and Regulators A Federal Trade Commission Workshop
In late 2014 we had the opportunity to purchase our neighbors home on a short sale. Improvements were made and we listed on airbnb. Within a few hours, we received a request to book the Lodge for the Championship game @ ATT Stadium and hosted 8 Oregon Ducks. We are retired - our professional careers heavily depended on hospitality and customer service. We each have a risk management background - Robert is a CPA with risk finance and insurance experience and Marilyn an RN with Corporate experience in quality, loss control and the patient experience. We recommended airbnb without reservation. For a nominal airbnb manages marketing and advertising, collection of funds and feedback from our guests. The reviews give us insight into our strengths and where we can make improvements. We have had 9 bookings since we went online in the early spring of 2015. We treat each guest like close friends and family. We are always immediately available but not intrusive. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to say a good word for airbnb. come stay @ the Lodge for a weekend, a week or longer. We provide Starbucks coffee!
