"After 40 years of working in trucking transportation as an operations manager, it was time to slow down a bit and try something new prior to full retirement. Uber was the perfect fit, and I am proud to be an Uber Partner. Uber gives me the flexibility I need, as I have family in Pennsylvania, that need my attention on short notice. My Mother is in her late 80's and I am responsible for her financial commitments. Uber affords me the ability to be my own boss, running my own business, and has created jobs, not just for myself, but others who are looking for something else in their lives. I also feel I am giving back to people in that "I" am there for them when they have a need, not just to get to work, but when their car breaks down, they need to help a loved one, or not having to drive when they may have had some adult beverages, which saves accidents and lives. I don't think the "elders" or Orlando take all those things into consideration. Every rider I pick up tells me how pleasant the drivers are, that the service is so much more reliable than standard taxis, and is also affordable for them. They enjoy that we talk to them, maybe letting them vent when they've had a difficult day, maybe just by bringing a smile to their face. Because of this, as I've said, I am proud to be an Uber Partner, and will continue as an Independent Contractor for them. Uber On!!"
