I've been using the Airbnb service for close to one year now. As a hard working middle class family, this service has been a very successful tool to help us pay our mortgage, other bills and overall make ends meet in during these trying economic times. We've been a military and law enforcement family for over 28 and 25 years respectively. As such, we have probably have more concern with public safety and with our family's safety in particular, than does the average citizen. When we first started using Airbnb we were apprehensive about using an online service to bring vacation renters to our home. It took only one time using their systems to realize they provide a very thorough and safe screening process when allowing guests to register. We now enjoy a high level of confidence in these systems. All of our guests since we first started using this service have been very friendly, safe, responsible and conscientious people. We've very much enjoyed having all of them rent from us. I can't emphasize enough what an invaluable service and economic tool this the Airbnb service is for guests and host alike! In addition to being an Airbnb host, I've also enjoyed using Airbnb as a guest, while traveling abroad and domestically. It's a very efficient, safe and economically mean for travelers to use. By using this service abroad, I was able to take my entire family on a vacation with the money saved from having to pay top dollar for hotels. If I would of had to stay in hotels, I would not of been able to do this. As a host, Airbnb has created a sustainable, local economy that has allowed me, a small business owner, to create and grow a business based around short term, vacation rentals. I cannot emphasize enough that Airbnb is a great service for supporting small business owners, boosting sustainable, local economies and creating healthy competition by offering alternatives to huge corporate hotels choices. Please do not do anything to disturb this system. My family has come to rely on this source of income. Again, this is a good thing for middle American families. We'd like to keep it this way! Thank you in advance for your consideration. Sincerely, Dawn Wade
