"On a regular Wednesday in December an unexpected trip came about and I needed to rush to the airport in a matter of minutes. It was around 6:30pm. I called a taxi at 305 444 4444, and they said it would take 20 long minutes, that there were no taxis in the area. Biscayne and 108. after 20 minutes the taxi was not here and I called again, the said it would take another 5 minutes for the to call me and confirm. 10 minutes after nothing. I cancelled. Requested and Uber and the car was here in 5 minutes, took me to the airport and I did not miss my flight by just 20 minutes. Taxi service in Miami is unreliable, dirty, and most of the time not existent. Just try hailing a cab anywhere in Miami but the airport or south beach, impossible.
