"I and my friends gave virtually eliminated drinking and driving among our friend group - we number close to 100 people who've known each other for years. Someone would volunteer to stay the DD but that was always iffy, especially when at any one time it might be 10-15 of us out at the beach - Uber is easy, reliable, safe and cost effective- don't get me wrong DUIs are not a trade for a taxi, but many nights people couldn't find a taxi and would give up - they drove. Uber has eliminated this in my crowd and now my 21 year old is doing the same w her friends. I gave her an unlimited Uber account and she takes it regularly. My 84 year old mom takes it to the doctor as it's much more reliable as to schedules. Restrict Uber and we will see behaviors revert, it's fairly simple human behavior especially when dealing w people who've had a couple cocktails. Pushing a button makes making the right choice easy- why would anyone want to impede such a public good."
