I believe Airbnb hosting is a wonderful option for middle and lower class families to earn a bit of extra income whether it's for basic expenses such as mortgage payments, food and clothing or to save for a traveling or buying a better car. It's also a great option for guests to be able to travel and stay in affordable accommodations. Also guests help generate and support sustainable local economic activity that supports small businesses in communities across the country. Especially for international travelers, the Airbnb experience has wonderful cultural benefits - hosts and guests are able to learn about each other's country and culture in a very informal way and sometimes that develops into a lasting friendship. For a guest to experience a faraway place through a "local's" eye is a valuable experience. Hosts are able to help their guests have a memorable stay by learning about the interests of their guests and therefore helping them plan their itinerary. This is extremely helpful especially if the guests' stay is very short. Airbnb hosting is truly a valuable experience for both host and guests - hosts earn a little extra money; guests are able to experience a town in a way they otherwise wouldn't if they stayed in a hotel.
