Airbnb has literally saved my life! Due to the nature or the business, my employer downsized last year. In doing so, I was one of the fortunate ones they valued enough to keep. Although they kept me along with the few others, there was still a huge pay cut for all the part time workers including myself. This pay cut significantly effected my financial stability, stress levels/blood pressure, and overall lifestyle. Myself along with my other fellow employees who experienced this pay cut were all scrambling around our respective cities, trying to find work. After paying rent and student loans each month, I had to borrow money from family members just to eat! Couldn't even pay for public transit at times. I was completely oit of options and felt overwhelmingly hopeless. I had to face the fact that I wasn't making enough to pay rent and take care of myself, so I was about to give up my beloved apartment and stay with family ... until my sister asked me if I've ever tried Airbnb. I kid you not, I immediately made a profile, took some great photos with my smartphone, and started booking literally THAT DAY! If it wasn't for the income provided to me by Airbnb, I honestly don't know where I would've ended up. Most likely living on my aunt's couch, sulking in feelings of utter failure and depression. ... As my gracious and brilliant sister always says: THANK GOD for Airbnb.
