Why would you rent your home to a stranger? This is why I rent through Airbnb. My husband Christopher tragically passed away at an early age in 2010, he was the main breadwinner. I was very fortunate to be able to keep our home. I chose Airbnb, because of their record and commitment to safety for the host as well as their guests. My son and I together began the journey of sharing our home with strangers. We quickly realized that our guests were leaving as friends. Sharing meals, stories, local experiences and adventures together. Airbnb was with me the entire way. I have lots of wonderful stories, but what makes Airbnb different? From the first email when a guest contacts me, I know that I have a live person who is a phone call away to help both me and my guest through whatever problem we may encounter. Disasters happen, and I know I am part of a community that will help. From explaining the process, collecting the payments, taking the pictures, most important was the safety of verifying my guests. Airbnb has the value of added insurance for both host & guest. They are available to translate and help if there are problems with reservations 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I would like to thank you for time and allowing my comments. Margaret J. Bernal Carpinteria, California
