The "Sharing" Economy: Issues Facing Platforms, Participants, and Regulators A Federal Trade Commission Workshop
The sharing economy or Airbnb is a win win situation for both the guests and tenants; mainly because the guests need places to stay during their travel and the tenants have space available to facilitate that. Travelers traditionally can only choose hotels/motels to stay, but now they have more control because there are more accomodations to choose from. As far as security goes, Airbnb plays an important role on verifying all the listed customers, doesn't matter guests or hosts. Airbnb also helps the hosts alleviate the financial stress by bringing extra income while the guests can pay affordable prices to stay. Sharing economy definitley is the future trend, as we can see why Car2go is so popular now, the economy is more efficient if it can be shared, which maxmize the resources, minimize the waste.
